Job Overview

ADvTECH’s Trinityhouse Glenvista High is seeking a Locum Teacher on a 9-month contract basis for the FET phase.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging classroom instruction, managing learner progress, and maintaining high academic standards while supporting students’ educational and personal development.

This role is ideal for an experienced high school educator with strong subject specialisation and a passion for learner achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver FET phase lessons
• Implement engaging and future-focused teaching strategies
• Conduct academic assessments and learner reporting
• Manage student behaviour and classroom discipline
• Support learner academic development and progression
• Build positive relationships with parents, colleagues, and the school community
• Maintain administrative and reporting duties
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements
• Represent and uphold the Trinityhouse school brand

Qualifications

Education

• Degree (NQF Level 7)
• PGCE or Bachelor of Education (FET)
• Subject specialisation relevant to the teaching area
• SACE Registration (required)
• Police Clearance (required)
• First Aid certification (advantageous)

Experience

• 2–5 years teaching experience
• 2–5 years subject specialist teaching experience
