Job Overview

The MinePlan Engineer I plays a critical technical support and optimisation role within Hexagon Mining’s ecosystem. This position focuses on ensuring MineSight software and mine planning systems operate efficiently at client sites.

You will act as a key interface between customers and technical teams, resolving complex system issues, improving workflows, and delivering high-impact solutions that enhance mining operations. The role also involves training clients, supporting software improvements, and contributing to continuous innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Client Engagement

• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for MineSight software
• Act as a primary contact for customer issues and ensure timely resolution
• Deliver high-quality documentation and feedback to product development teams
• Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company professionally

System Optimisation & Continuous Improvement

• Identify system inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
• Contribute to software enhancement requests and defect tracking
• Support development of FAQs, training materials, and self-service tools

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Work closely with internal technical teams and project stakeholders
• Share expertise and cross-skill team members to improve service delivery
• Assist sales teams by identifying client needs and potential opportunities

Operations & Compliance

• Adhere to technical support schedules and service level expectations
• Participate in on-call support and after-hours assistance when required
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company operational policies

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field (preferred)

Experience

• Experience in mining operations or mining software environments
• Exposure to MineSight software (highly advantageous)
• Background in technical support or consulting roles
• Experience with mining projects such as blasting or operations (preferred)

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite
• Knowledge of SQL Server and Python (advantageous)
• Experience with ticketing systems and tools like JIRA
• Excellent communication and client engagement skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
