Job Overview
The People HR Internship is designed to provide practical exposure to HR operations, administration, onboarding, payroll support, employee relations, and HR systems within Takealot Group.
The successful candidate will support the HR Operations team with day-to-day administrative and operational activities while gaining hands-on experience across various HR functions in a fast-paced corporate environment.
This opportunity is ideal for graduates who are passionate about Human Resources and eager to develop professional workplace skills.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration Support
- Assist with filing and scanning of HR documents
- Support preparation of HR-related documentation
- Assist with labour broker change forms and administration
Employee and Onboarding Support
- Support onboarding and new employee processes
- Assist with employee queries and HR communication
- Prepare new starter communication emails
HR Systems and Payroll Administration
- Assist with HR systems administration including Axio, Intranet, The Hub, and Greenhouse
- Support payroll administration processes
- Assist with documentation such as UI-19 forms, IRP5s, and employment confirmations
HR Projects and Employee Relations
- Assist with HR projects and operational initiatives
- Provide support with CCMA-related administration
- Help maintain accurate HR records and compliance documentation
Qualifications
Education
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate
- Completed N6 qualification in:
- Human Resources
- Human Resource Management
- Related HR qualification
Experience
- Previous HR administration exposure will be advantageous
- No formal work experience required
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong data capturing and administration skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Good communication skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Understanding of labour legislation including BCEA, LRA, EEA, and SDA
- Knowledge of HR functions such as recruitment, payroll, training, and employee relations
