🔍 Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Shift Supervisor to oversee daily production activities at our operation in Saldanha Bay Municipality. This is a crucial role focused on shift supervision, process control, equipment availability, and safety compliance within a hydrometallurgical mineral processing plant.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Supervise production teams and ensure daily targets are achieved

• Conduct plant inspections in compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)

• Investigate and resolve operational issues or equipment failures

• Monitor and manage equipment availability and efficiency

• Minimize production delays by communicating any breakdowns or equipment changes

• Ensure compliance with all process parameters, SHEQ standards, and quality requirements

• Coordinate response to plant spillage and implement solutions

• Manage documentation and administrative functions related to shift operations

• Guide and train junior staff and oversee performance management

• Work closely with the Plant Manager, Process Superintendent, and Engineering teams

• Recommend cost-saving improvements and operate within budget

🎓 Minimum Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 (NQF Level 4 or equivalent)

• National Certificate in Mineral Processing Level 2 (or equivalent)

• Valid Driver’s Licence (Code B, EB, or C1)

• Maths and Science advantageous

🛠️ Skills & Experience Required

• 5+ years’ experience as a Process Section Supervisor in hydrometallurgical processing

• Prior exposure to froth flotation operations is advantageous

• Sound knowledge of MHSA regulations and legal liability requirements

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

• Strong supervisory, people management, and communication skills

• High attention to detail and strong time management

• Presentation and employee relations capabilities

• Ability to identify production inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
