Job Overview

Capitec is seeking a Product Head: Secured Credit to lead the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of secured lending products within the Business Bank division.

This role is responsible for translating strategic objectives into high-impact products, overseeing delivery, and ensuring the secured credit portfolio (including vehicle asset finance, property finance, and specialised loans) remains competitive, compliant, and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute product strategy aligned to business goals.
• Lead cross-functional teams across product, engineering, and delivery.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept to optimisation.
• Manage secured lending products including VAF, property, and specialised loans.
• Drive digital transformation and automation in lending journeys.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and credit risk standards.
• Manage product profitability, pricing models, and risk appetite.
• Oversee collateral processes and loan management workflows.
• Engage stakeholders and manage vendor relationships effectively.
• Monitor performance and continuously improve product offerings.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree (required).
• Honours Degree (preferred).

Experience

• 8–12 years’ experience in secured lending product management.
• Experience within retail, business, or commercial banking.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience delivering large-scale lending products or platforms.
• Experience in product strategy, development, and lifecycle management.
• Exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, and vendor management.
