The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking to train and develop 5,500 new Police Trainees across the country through its Student Police Trainee Programme under the SAPS Act. ✅ Minimum Generic Requirements

• South African Citizen (documentary proof required)

• Age: 18–35 years

• Valid Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (proof required)

• No criminal record or pending cases

• Medically and mentally fit (subject to assessment)

• Must pass psychometric and fitness tests

• No visible tattoos when in uniform

• Must be proficient in English and one other official language

• Prepared to serve anywhere in South Africa

🎓 Additional Requirements (Advantageous)

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Valid driver’s license (light motor vehicle)

• Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6 or higher) in:

  • Criminal Law

  • Policing

  • Forensic Investigation

• Grade 12 graduates eligible for Bachelor’s/Diploma/Higher Certificate study
