π Whatβs the Opportunity?
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking to train and develop 5,500 new Police Trainees across the country through its Student Police Trainee Programme under the SAPS Act. This initiative forms part of South Africa’s broader mission to combat crime, enforce law and order, and equip young South Africans with essential policing skills.

β Minimum Generic Requirements

South African Citizen (documentary proof required)
-
Age: 18β35 years
-
Valid Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (proof required)
-
No criminal record or pending cases
-
Medically and mentally fit (subject to assessment)
-
Must pass psychometric and fitness tests
-
No visible tattoos when in uniform
-
Must be proficient in English and one other official language
-
Prepared to serve anywhere in South Africa
π Additional Requirements (Advantageous)
Preference will be given to candidates with:

Valid driverβs license (light motor vehicle)

Tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6 or higher) in:

Criminal Law

Policing
-
Forensic Investigation

Grade 12 graduates eligible for Bachelorβs/Diploma/Higher Certificate study
