The St Peter’s Prep Teacher Internship Programme 2026 is a unique opportunity for aspiring educators to earn a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree while gaining daily, hands-on teaching experience.

Starting in January 2027, successful candidates will be immersed in a dynamic classroom environment where they will learn directly from experienced teachers. The programme blends academic study with practical exposure, ensuring interns graduate as confident, competent, and professional educators.

Interns will also participate in the Community Partnership Programme, exposing them to diverse teaching environments and enhancing their understanding of education in South Africa.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate with university exemption
  • Minimum APS score of 28 (excluding Life Orientation)

Subject Requirements:

  • English Home Language: ≥ 60%
    or
  • English First Additional Language: ≥ 70%
  • Mathematics: ≥ 40%
    or
  • Maths Literacy: ≥ 60%

Other Requirements:

  • South African citizen
  • Preferably under the age of 27
  • Demonstrated financial need
