This Senior Civil Engineer/Technologist position joins the Water Division—an elite engineering team responsible for conceptualising, designing, and delivering large-scale bulk water infrastructure across Africa and the Middle East. The role is ideal for a registered professional who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, leading multidisciplinary project teams, and managing end-to-end project delivery on highly technical water conveyance systems.

🛠️ Role Overview

This senior-level position focuses on designing and managing infrastructure such as bulk water pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, and associated civil works. You will play a crucial role throughout the full project lifecycle—from planning and modelling, to design, documentation, procurement, and construction supervision. 📌 Responsibilities

• Lead the full project management cycle for bulk water conveyance projects across planning, design, procurement, construction, and close-out.

• Perform advanced engineering designs, hydraulic calculations, simulations, and analysis of pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, and water infrastructure assets.

• Conduct hydraulic modelling using EPANET, InfoWater, WaterGEMS, or similar industry software.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary project inputs including civil, structural, fire, mechanical, and electrical engineering requirements.

• Oversee the development of 3D models, technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.

• Produce professional technical reports, project documentation, procurement packages, and engineering specifications.

• Administer construction contracts as a Contracts Engineer, Employer’s Agent Representative, or Principal Agent.

• Respond to construction queries, provide technical guidance, and perform site supervision when required.

• Collaborate with project teams across geographies to deliver integrated engineering solutions.

• Ensure all project outputs meet Zutari’s strict quality standards and comply with relevant engineering codes.

🎓 Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering (postgraduate qualification advantageous).

• Registered with ECSA as a PrEng or PrTechEng, or proof of submission.

• Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on bulk water conveyance projects.

• Experience across full project lifecycles—from concept planning to construction close-out.

• Strong proficiency in MS Office; MS Projects is an advantage.

• Experience with GCC and FIDIC contracts; knowledge of other contract forms beneficial.

• Familiarity with Autodesk design software and 3D design tools (advantageous).

• Strong project management abilities and excellent communication skills.
