Job Overview

Aramex is looking for a Senior Credit Executive to join its Accounting and Finance team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full credit control function, reducing financial risk, monitoring customer accounts, and ensuring outstanding payments are collected within agreed terms.

This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can maintain customer accounts, review new credit applications, manage overdue payments, and provide regular reporting to support the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage unallocated credits on customer accounts.
  • Compile monthly reports and ad-hoc reports within required deadlines.
  • Send reminder letters to customers with overdue accounts.
  • Resolve account queries and payment disputes timeously.
  • Maintain customer accounts according to agreed payment terms.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and assess customer risk.
  • Allocate payments accurately to customer accounts.
  • Ensure all credit control procedures are followed and targets are achieved.
  • Adhere to company policies and documented procedures.
  • Update customer information on Salesforce and SAP systems.
  • Prepare monthly reports on overdue accounts, customer commitments, and daily targets versus achievements.
  • Visit customers when required to discuss overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Review and assess new customer credit applications.
  • Work closely with sales and finance teams to balance business growth with financial risk.

Qualifications

Education

  • BCom Degree or similar qualification will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience performing the full credit control function.
  • At least 2 years’ experience using SAP is advantageous.
  • Experience in customer account reconciliation and collections.
  • Strong understanding of credit control procedures, financial analysis, and risk management.
