Job Overview
The Standard Bank CIB Transaction Banking Graduate Programme offers graduates the opportunity to build a career in one of Africa’s leading banking institutions.
During the 18-month programme, graduates will work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to payments, trade, investor services, data, artificial intelligence and innovative banking solutions.
This programme is designed for graduates who want to make a meaningful impact while developing their skills in transaction banking and financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Transaction Banking team with day-to-day business activities.
- Assist with client-focused projects involving payments, trade and investor services.
- Work on data, digital and AI-related banking initiatives.
- Conduct research and analysis to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals across different banking functions.

Qualifications
Education
Applicants must have completed or be completing a postgraduate qualification in 2026 in one of the following fields:
- Finance
- Economics
- Accounting
- Business Science
- Engineering
- Data Science
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
Experience
- Maximum of two years’ work experience.
- Applicants must be South African citizens.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal ability.
- Interest in banking, payments and financial technology.
- Ability to work in a team and manage deadlines.
- Curiosity, innovation and willingness to learn.
- Strong academic performance with a minimum average of 65% across all years of study.
