Job Overview

Hollywoodbets is seeking a professional and highly vigilant VIP Security Officer to join its Purple Team in Kraaifontein. This role is responsible for maintaining a secure, compliant, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The successful candidate will play a critical frontline role in branch security, access control, guest interaction, and loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct perimeter patrols before branch opening and during operating hours

• Monitor surroundings for suspicious behaviour during opening and closing procedures

• Perform internal and external patrols, including parking areas and back-of-house zones

• Operate scanners, panic buttons, radios, and surveillance equipment

• Control access to the premises and enforce age, bag, and weapon restrictions

• Ensure compliance with scanning and gender-search protocols

• Assist with opening, closing, stock receiving, and alarm testing procedures

• Compile and submit daily security reports by required deadlines

• Provide visible security presence while delivering exceptional guest service

• Respond promptly to incidents and escalate risks using panic systems when required

Qualifications

Education

• Grade 12 / Matric (advantageous)

Experience

• Previous security experience preferred

• Experience in access control, crowd management, or hospitality security is advantageous

Skills & Competencies

• PSIRA registration (mandatory)

• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and guest interaction skills

• Ability to remain calm under pressure

• Physical fitness suitable for standing, patrolling, and shift work

• Ability to work independently and within a structured team environment
