Job Overview

The Graduate Internship Programme by the Western Cape Government – Health and Wellness is designed to provide unemployed graduates with 12 months of structured workplace experience across various government departments.

Key Responsibilities

Workplace Learning & Support

  • Participate in structured on-the-job training activities
  • Support daily administrative and operational tasks within assigned departments
  • Assist with service delivery functions in line with government objectives

Administrative Support

  • Assist with documentation, filing, and record management
  • Support departmental reporting and coordination tasks
  • Provide general office and programme support

Project & Programme Support

  • Assist in departmental projects and community initiatives
  • Support data collection and basic reporting activities
  • Contribute to programme implementation under supervision

Professional Development

  • Engage in mentorship and training sessions
  • Participate in skills development and workplace learning activities
  • Apply academic knowledge in practical environments

Qualifications

Education

  • Completed qualification in one of the following fields:
    • Public Administration
    • Finance / Accounting
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Human Resources
    • Communications
    • Graphic Design
    • Information Technology / Systems
    • Industrial Psychology
    • Civil Engineering
    • Quantity Surveying
    • Health Sciences / Research
    • Office Management and Technology
    • Or related fields

Experience

  • No formal work experience required
  • Academic qualification must be completed

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must reside in the Western Cape
  • Must hold a valid South African ID
  • Must be unemployed at the time of application
