Job Overview

The 2026 Field Representative Development Program is designed to accelerate early-career professionals into impactful roles within Caterpillar’s global business. Based in Johannesburg, this programme offers structured learning, international exposure, and hands-on experience across technical, commercial, and customer-facing functions.

Participants will develop a deep understanding of Caterpillar’s operations while preparing for future field-based roles supporting dealers and customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in structured training and development sessions during the initial programme phase
  • Engage in rotational assignments across different business functions
  • Support sales, marketing, and customer engagement initiatives
  • Assist in analysing market trends, customer needs, and product performance
  • Collaborate with internal teams and global stakeholders on strategic projects
  • Build strong relationships with dealers and contribute to performance improvement initiatives
  • Apply technical and commercial knowledge to real-world business challenges

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field

Experience

  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (internships or academic projects advantageous)
  • Exposure to project work, leadership roles, or extracurricular activities is beneficial

Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in dynamic environments
  • Digital and data literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI advantageous)
