Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A relevant Doctoral degree. Consideration will be given to candidates with a relevant Master's degree who are registered for a relevant Doctoral degree and are at an advanced stage towards completion.

At least four (4) years' relevant experience in Higher Education.

A proven record of managing projects and programmes.

A research record in the field of teaching and learning.

Experience in management and administration in the faculty.

Knowledge, skills and experience of teaching as well as lecturing.

Proficiency in English and at least one other regional language.

Experience in managing a budget.

Please note: Only current employees within the Faculty of Health and Wellness Sciences will be considered for this appointment.

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

Coordination of the teaching, learning, and assessment activities within the faculty.

Implementation of a teaching, learning, and assessment strategy for the faculty.

Assist with the appointment of mentors, tutors, and retention officers in the faculty.

Investigation of current health science educational practices and promotion of scholarship in the faculty.

Assisting in designing and delivering the First Year Experience programme for the faculty.

Responsibility for PQM and coordination of new programme proposals and applications.

Responsibility for quality assurance in teaching, learning, and assessment.

Responsibility for faculty review reports.

Responsibility for faculty qualifications reviews.

Coordinate staff development workshops on curriculum development, innovation of teaching, learning, and assessment.

Faculty representative in teaching, learning, and assessment-related committees in the university.

Communication and coordination of teaching, learning, and assessment policies, projects, and procedures in the faculty.
