CTP Flexibles, a leading flexible packaging manufacturer and part of the Caxton/CTP Group, is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead our Cape Town operation.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished manufacturing executive with a proven track record in driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and strategic growth within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership to the business.
Drive profitability, productivity, quality, safety, and customer service.
Develop and implement business strategies aligned with the Group's objectives.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing management team.
Ensure optimal production planning, manufacturing efficiency, and cost control.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure.
Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, health and safety, and quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and best-practice methodologies.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing/ Operations Management, Business Management, or related field (or relevant RPL).
A postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) will be advantageous.
Minimum of 10 years' senior management experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in the printing, packaging, converting, plastics, or flexible packaging industry.
Strong commercial and financial acumen with responsibility for budgets and profitability.
Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Sound knowledge of labour legislation, health and safety, and quality management systems.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
