Summary
The incumbent will assist the pharmacist in dispensing and to perform pharmacy related administrative duties
Requirements
Qualified as Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
Registered as a post basic pharmacist assistant with the South African Pharmacy Council
Computer Literacy essential
Related house-keeping tasks
Supply of surgical ward stock
Assist in the control of stock kept in wards
Assist in cyclical counts and full stock take process
Assist in ethical and surgical stock ordering
All duties assigned by management from time to time
Provision of drug information service under the supervision of a pharmacist
Supply of ethical ward stock under the supervision of a pharmacist
Keep up to date with evolving policies and procedures and abide by them at all times
Work Experience
Two years' experience in a similar position in a pharmacy
Working experience in private healthcare will be advantageous
Knowledge
Knowledge of dispensing systems and ordering systems
Aseptic compounding of mixtures according to GPP under supervision of the pharmacist
The dispensing of a prescription to in and out patients following the interpretation and evaluation of the prescription by a pharmacist
