Job Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Renal Dialysis will deliver comprehensive patient care to individuals with renal conditions. The role requires adherence to scope of practice, renal care policies, and collaboration with a multi-professional healthcare team. This position is temporary and ideal for candidates seeking flexible shifts and hands-on nephrology experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, comprehensive, and high-quality nursing care for renal patients

  • Deliver patient education and treatment support in line with renal care policies

  • Collaborate with a multi-professional healthcare team to ensure patient-centered care

  • Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all patient interventions

  • Ensure proper use, documentation, and charging of stock and equipment

Qualifications

Education

  • Current registration with SANC (South African Nursing Council)

  • Additional qualification in Nephrology Nursing (advantageous)

Experience

  • Minimum one year work experience in a renal unit or ICU with willingness to learn renal procedures

Skills

  • Sound knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care according to scope of practice

  • Competence in demonstrating and assessing clinical procedures

  • Patient observation and risk identification

  • Teamwork and communication skills

  • Computer literacy for recordkeeping and reporting
