Job Description
A leading manufacturing company in the concrete products industry is looking for an experienced Sales Representative with strong experience in selling precast concrete products, paving bricks and kerbs to join their team in Rosslyn, Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, providing product guidance and consistently achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities
Maintain relationships with existing customers through regular review visits and sales calls.
Identify and visit prospective customers to introduce products and generate new business.
Develop strong product knowledge and provide customers with appropriate product information.
Attend site meetings and product meetings.
Deliver product samples to customers.
Gather market and customer information and communicate findings to management.
Keep the customer database up to date.
Advise customers on forthcoming product developments and special promotions.
Check product stock availability.
Record orders accurately on order forms and the relevant sales system.
Follow up on orders placed.
Record customer visits and activities on the relevant sales system.
Develop a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements.
Proactively develop sales opportunities across the full product range.
Consistently meet and exceed set sales targets.
Identify market trends and opportunities for adapting the product offering.
Assist with office sales enquiries and tenders when required.
Participate in marketing campaigns and occasional overtime when required.
Requirements
Matric minimum.
Proven sales experience within the precast concrete products industry.
Experience selling paving bricks, kerbs and other precast concrete materials.
A proven and verifiable sales record within the direct industry.
Valid driver's licence.
Good knowledge of the surrounding areas.
Excellent communication and telephone skills.
Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
Good negotiation and influencing abilities.
Excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritise and plan activities effectively.
Self-motivated, energetic, ambitious and presentable.
Ability to work under pressure.
Good computer literacy, including Outlook, Excel and Word; experience with Pastel or Sage is advantageous.
Strong work ethic, accountability, integrity and willingness to learn.
Willingness to undergo an integrity test.
