As a member of a hardworking, proactive, and committed team who are responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of the mining operations including but not limited to safety, personnel, training, and development activities.

In this role you will be responsible for:

The incumbent will report to the Project Construction Manager and be responsible for all functions relating to the position Supervisor (Construction), the role's purpose is to supervise the construction team and participate in tasks to deliver quality results within a specified timeframe for construction targets.

Duties would include but not limited to be accountable for the control and coordination of the specific area of production and civil construction duties of the team.

Compliance with the company's HSEC system is essential

Ensuring implementation of management decisions, legal requirements, and the company standards/policies.

About you

Grade 12

Formal Civil and/or building works related qualification will be an advantage.

Training certificates in civil and building works would be advantageous.

Certificates for legal liability and HIRA would be advantageous.

Proficient in English written language

Medical fitness

Driver's license and own transport

At least 5 - 10 years' previous experience in the construction industry dealing with earthworks, civils, structural, mechanical and piping installations.

Must have ability to read and understand civil, structural and piping drawings, iso's including reinforcing schedules.

Have experience as a concrete hand (placing, compacting, and finishing of concrete)

Have experience in the erection of shutters (levelling, propping, cleaning, and installing corner fillets)

Have experience in reinforcing (placing, binding, and supporting of mesh and rebar)

Have experience with structural erection.

Have experience with HDPE and Steel piping fabrication and installations.

Have working at heights experience. (Training will be an advantage)

Must have proven track record of previous project works

Must have construction safety experience to complete dsti's, mind joggers and risk assessments

Must have experience to do GCOMs to coach and upskilling team members in Glencore HSEC systems and procedures, modular plant construction, behavioural bases safety approach to HSEC.

Must be a team player and be able to work well with others in coaching, guiding and development of team members

Computer Literacy.

Driver's License and own transport.

Must be a team player and be able to work well with others.

Ability to function independently.

Must be prepared to work overtime if required.

Medically fit.

Candidate to have good interpersonal skills (good communication skills)
