MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Purchasing Management (attach transcript)
New entrants into supply chain management/Logistics Management environment (in other words you must not have worked or held a supply chain management/Logistics Management internship before)
Basic knowledge of Legal/Finance for reporting on commitments and provisions
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel; willingness to learn asset management software
Strong organisational and analytical skills
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders
Must be a South African citizen
DUTIES
Assist in updating and checking the correctness of the internal purchase requisitions
Help verify the cost centre code, departmental code, and budget code
Generate and print orders from the ITS
Assist in preparing and distributing meeting agendas, minutes and supporting documents
Assist in maintaining the supplier database and ensure compliance with regard to legislative framework
Coordinate day-to-day travel activities of specific DHET officials
Help arrange travel bookings, hotels, accommodations, conferences, car rental, and flight bookings
Assist in ensuring that proper records management systems are in place
Assist in Lifecycle Management: maintain information from creation to disposal
Contribute to the overall development of SMU and actively improve institutional culture
Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager
