Full-time
Transportation and Logistics

Description

The Role (or your chance to run the engine room of Montego's exports)

As our Export Warehouse Supervisor, you'll own the day-to-day running of the export warehouse in Graaff-Reinet — making sure export orders are received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched safely, accurately and on time. You'll be the person who keeps stock honest, keeps documentation watertight, and keeps every load meeting the customer and country-specific requirements it needs to.

You'll also lead a team — general workers and forklift operators — bringing out their best through clear direction, training and a good dose of Montego culture. When it comes to service, quality and productivity targets, the buck stops with you (and you wouldn't have it any other way).

What you'll be doing (besides being brilliant)

Inventory Control

Accurately record stock movement between locations on the ERP system

Monitor FIFO / FEFO rotation and keep batch and expiry-date control spot on

Investigate inventory variances and feed back to the Warehouse Manager

Keep stock accurate through regular cycle counts

Investigate and resolve discrepancies, and report damaged, expired or non-conforming stock

Warehouse Operations

Supervise all daily export warehouse activity and allocate work across the team

Make sure export orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time

Supervise the loading of containers and trucks, confirming quantities and accuracy against the load list

Maintain high housekeeping standards (5S)

Distribution & Receiving

Supervise picking to ensure stock is available per loading instructions, flagging shortages to the Warehouse Manager and the relevant teams

Pick accurately against the load list and work on the scanner

Supervise truck loading to correct procedures to prevent damages and shortages, confirming quantities via the load list report

Check loads are in "Loading" status on the ERP system

Seal trucks per safety procedures and capture the load details on FNO

Check description, quantities, labels and batch codes before receiving finished products into the warehouse

Organise sufficient pallets and consumables for receiving, and make sure all the admin is completed

Export Compliance & Documentation

Make sure every export order meets customer and country-specific requirements

Verify export documentation before dispatch

Ensure products are labelled and packed to export specifications

Maintain traceability records

Health, Safety, Food Safety & Housekeeping

Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Food Safety (FSSC 22000) standards

Identify hazards, put corrective and preventative measures in place, and report risks to Management

Keep to personal hygiene standards and maintain a clean, tidy work area at all times

Check pest control measures are in place

Keep equipment clean and in good order — including the forklift — with checklists maintained and safe forklift practices upheld

Keep the warehouse and loading bay clean and tidy

People Management

Manage the attendance and performance of your team against expected standards

Offer guidance and support day to day — and, where needed, appropriate disciplinary action alongside the Warehouse Manager

Grow your people through on-the-job training and honest feedback

Play your part in selecting and appointing new team members

Hold regular meetings and keep communication open and ongoing

Submit team leave to the Warehouse Manager and manage overtime where applicable
